Kapolei High Summer School

Kapolei High Summer School Registration: April 19th for Kapolei High School students only.
Summer School Registration for all students state wide will be on Saturday 4/26 and 5/3 in the front office from 8-10 a. 1 credit is $190 and a 1/2 credit is $95.
Please make sure you bring cash, cashiers check, and money order.
Summer School begins June 3rd and ends July 8th.
Classes starts at 8am and the day ends at 3pm.

National Honor Society Kapolei High’s National Honor Society is now accepting applications for new membership. Applications may be picked up from Mrs. Inouye in H-Down or Mr. Reynon in H102. Applications will be due April 25th.

Hawaii State Science Fair Finalist

Hawaii State Science Fair Finalist A big congratulations goes out to Jordan Fernandez! He became a State Science Fair Finalist this past week and now qualifies to compete at the International Science and Engineering Fair in Los Angeles next month. Jordan Fernandez did quite well at the Hawaii State Science and Engineering Fair. Out of a field of 150 Senior Research projects, his was 1 of 12 to make it to the Round 2 Semi-Finals.
At the Awards Ceremony he received the following awards:
· American Chemical Society
o 3rd place - $50
· Hawaii Academy of Science
o State Science Fair Finalist – all expense paid trip to the International Science & Engineering Fair in Los Angeles, CA May 11-16, 2014
· Hawaii Academy of Science
o Grand Prize Award - Honorable Mention – plaque

Hawaiian Electric's High School Summer Internship Program 2014 Program dates: June 16 - 27, 2014
Work Full Time, 10 working day, earn a $500 stipend

Leeward District Science Fair Please Congratulate, Jordan Fernandez, he was the only KHS student to compete at the Leeward District Science Fair and has qualified for the State Science & Engineering Fair.
He was awarded the Certificate of Achievement from the US Air Force for his project: Liquid Organic Hydrogen Carriers for Hydrogen Fuel Storage: Heterocyclic N and O Compounds Dehydrogenation Utilizing the Iridium PCP Pincer Catalyst.
Kapolei High School FCCLA State CTSO Conference

Kapolei High School FCCLA State CTSO Conference Congratulations to the following students who placed in the FCCLA State CTSO Conference on February 19 & 20, 2014 at the Hawaii Convention Center.
Jalen Payongayong and Kelsey Cruz (seniors) earned Gold Medals in Food Innovations with their project: "Aina Bites, a Hawaii Power Cookie" They will travel to San Antonio, Texas in July to represent Hawaii and to compete at the National FCCLA Conference.
Jemmlyn Agas (junior) was awarded a White Ribbon in the ACF Knife Cutting Event.
Moses Bell and Empress Awaeu (juniors) were awarded Silver Medals in the STAR Culinary Event. Out of 41 students, Empress placed 5th from the top and Moses placed 6th from the top.
