Please Welcome Kapolei High School's New Principal Wesley Shinkawa

Dear Kapolei High School ‘Ohana,
Thank you for the opportunity to serve you as the new principal of Kapolei High School (KHS). I come back to KHS after serving as principal of Mauka Lani Elementary School, Interim Principal of Iroquois Point Elementary School, Vice Principal at Kapolei Middle School, Iroquois Point Elementary, Maili Elementary and Kapolei High. I look forward to an exciting school year; filled with creative learning opportunities and activities that meet the needs of our diverse student population. Your support and involvement at KHS is valued and paramount to creating and sustaining connections that aim to improve student achievement.
I would also like to take this opportunity to extend a big mahalo to Mr. Elden Esmeralda for his dedication and years of service to the students and families of Kapolei High School. Through his vision and leadership, our school serves as the heart of this ever changing community. KHS is a school where our students can explore their interests and share their unique talents in preparation for their transition into college or the workforce. This year, our art students had the opportunity in participating in the Honolulu Rail Transit poster contest. The theme was "Connecting Communities". Their winning piece was among many other students on Oahu who won this contest which reflected the theme.
